Salt & Straw, the award-winning Portland-based artisanal ice cream shop, selected Los Angeles’ Larchmont Village for its first location outside of Oregon. To help them launch in Larchmont, we created a community relations plan that helped them build relationships with key neighborhood associations, businesses and the merchants’ association; suggested strategic partnerships with local non-profits, including a flavor contest with Larchmont Charter School’s Edible School Yard program; and teased the opening by handing out samples to people standing in line in the hot sun for Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s popular summer movie nights.

Since opening in Fall 2014, there’s been a line around the block for their unique and delicious ice cream!
